ABSTRACT
Ombudsman in terms of utility mean a watchdog of Administration or the protector of the poor man. This institution has become so much cherished thereby making it an importable commodity the world over. Besides the traditional institution of Ombudsman in Nigeria, keeping in view the compulsion and constraints other Ombudsman activities have sprung up. Electronic Media Ombudsman is one of them; especially Radio and Television in the South Western Nigeria. This paper traces the historical emergence of the Electronic Media Ombudsman in South West Nigeria, it analysis its practices and procedures as well as its underlying Yoruba philosophical concept. The paper examines the prospects and challenges facing the Electronic Media Ombudsman in the South West e.g kini kinse, Eda soro yii, Agborandun etc. The paper concluded with some suggestions that could improve the effectiveness of the Electronic Media Ombudsman in South Western Nigeria.
